Can’t wait to see the top #88 cause I can think of maybe one or two that can be in the conversation with Tom. I’ll never forget being on my recruiting trip at Eastern while he prepared for the combine. 6am, 2 Feet of snow outside and Tommy’s running stairs and around the track and that’s after a night of Duck Fart’s.
You’re right, Josh. Not many can really be compared to Tom, for everything he was able to accomplish. This list, however, is only based on accomplishments at the high school level.
I can’t wait to see #87 players at the High School level that could Block, Tackle and Knock people down and catch the ball on top of it better then Tom. But probably not the stats your looking for.
I watched Tom, Alvord & J. Locker all play HS football in their HS primes (& hoops). There is no doubt Tom was the complete package & ran sideline-to-sideline unbelievably well, brought the heat on impact & had great hands. But he got even better AFTER HS w/collegiate/pro coaching….
Having watched both I’d argue that Alvord could “Block, tackle & knock people down” at the HS level as well as if not better than anyone in the history of this county & a few guys already ranked like Pete Kaligis & Travis Welch et al never met an opponent they didn’t like to recoil & emphatically knock on their a**!! Plus there are likely a few more players coming along the list that could be thrown into the conversation & no there aren’t stats for that. Being recognized as All State definitely plays a roll in these rankings, esp as it gets into Top 100. How Tom wasn’t All State is even a shock to me and I went to NVHS! I also can’t believe Duffy Cox wasn’t all state & he went to The US Air Force Academy outta HS. That’s on the writers/coaches of that time cause both Tom & Duffy unquestionably were all state worthy!
Bottom line is Tom was a helluva a player (athlete) but this list has NOTHING to do w/post HS achievements & it seems most of the complaints I read are based on what a player did after HS! Go back and read what the site/list is based on & if you don’t like it then put the same passion/work that the author has into the site and come up with your own Top 500 list.

Corby “gets it.”
Dude, credibility is gone. It was already shakey but now it’s gone.
