One of NVHS’s finest!! ….also another former Viking.
My favorite line coach.
Stud!

Always ran with the line saying today is a good day to die. Told me once little guys like me and a few others on our team pissed him and the lineman off because we were sawed off little #%~!”* and if we got lateral to the line we were into the second level and the DB got all the good hits. He also said us little guys didn’t like pain. One of a kind.
I knew that guy was an animal when he coached me. Good-on-ya coach!
Massey is a big reason behind every Ferndale lineman on this list after 1998.
Very true! He either played with, against or coached many of the lineman/players on The Top 500 list that’s for sure…..& arguably had biggest combined impact of any player & coach in Whatcom County football history….he’s definitely on NV’s Mt. Rushmore….along w/ a Handy, a Longoria & an Ackerman; and that still leaves off a few other well deserved candidates like Jim Sterk, Britt Lentz et al.
Inspirational Beast. Nooksack connection was big for establishing Meridian tradition. Mark Stokes was right there too.
Can only wish they could have stayed and coached at their HS alma mater (; Gotta give Doug Groves props too…jeez he’s another stud & former Viking that held season sack record at one time. Plus Scott Stokes was a good HS QB in his day and went on to be head coach @ Marysville-Pilchuck for a number of years. Pretty sure both Stokes boys played at WWU during late 70s-era also. So much local talent that no longer has that option. #bringbackWWUfootball
Congratulations Lance!!
